I was being just like a little teacher in an amateur school which helps students learn further about their subjects. My job was to help students do their winter holiday homework and some questions they faced at class that are very difficult. I also was a cleaner. I needed to sweep the floor and made the desk in shipshape way. Even I had to clean the bathroom although bathroom is very dirty and smell bad. Next I want to talk some details about these volunteer experiences
First, I tell some impression about this amateur school. It’s not a really big school with large areas. It just has three classrooms and 200 students maximum. This school doesn’t have class from Monday to Friday. This school is to help students at their rest time. During this long holiday, I need to work five days before the spring festival. By the way, the full name of this cute school is Nanjing educational school of teenagers’ qualities.
Then, I knew many insights during my wonderful experience. I had to be responsible for students. I couldn’t stop teaching them until they know how to solve this question. I needed to make sure every teacher has chalks to write. I must raise the blackboard before the class. I should clean the bathroom so that parents didn’t complain the environment of school. My job started at 8 to 6:30 pm. It is a really hard work... I must remember I am a teacher and a worker all time. I remembered that I had to teach a boy around 10 years old. He didn’t know how to do a math question from his book. He asked the school principal how to deal with it. The principal wanted me to answer the question and I am very afraid of this. Fist, I said I didn’t know how to do it. But principal insisted me to answer. So I had tried my best to answer. I gave the student the right answer, but I didn’t use the simplest way to deal this problems. I couldn’t give student a right process. In the end I asked principal why let me to answer the question. She said she wanted me to get the skills of teaching students. It is a necessary skill that I can prove my speaking ability.
Now, I realize if I want to be a worker in a company I must commute with my colleague. I can learn from my colleague. Also I need to complete my work on time. Just like student must hand homework on time. Then, I need to take care of the whole company. Company is like my home, I must pay attention to “my home” at any moment.
From this volunteer experience at a school, I learned that responsibility is very important to our life. If I want to be a famous man or a rich boss, I need to have responsibility and I need to help others.
